Top five Things to do this easter weekend
Hey Upstate families! I’m so excited that Easter weekend is almost here. With Easter Sunday falling on April 5, 2026, the Upstate is bursting with spring color, community events, and those sweet family traditions that fly by way too fast. Whether you’re hunting eggs in Boiling Springs, catching a sunrise service in Greenville, or gathering the whole crew for brunch, these are the kinds of moments you’ll want to look back on for years.
Phone cameras are great for quick snaps, but a professional photographer turns chaotic joy into timeless art—candid laughs, golden-hour glow, and those little details you’ll treasure forever. Here are my top Easter weekend ideas happening right in the Upstate, plus why each one practically screams “book a photographer!”
1. Easter Egg Hunts – Pure Kid Chaos Worth Freezing in Time
The Upstate has egg hunts for every age and vibe this weekend:
Easter Egg Scramble – Saturday, April 4, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at Va-Du-Mar McMillan Park in Boiling Springs (hosted by Spartanburg County Parks). Sensory-friendly hunts first, then age-group scrambles, plus the Easter Bunny in person. Just $3 per hunter—super family-friendly.
Imagine capturing your little ones mid-sprint with baskets overflowing, faces sticky with candy, and that priceless “I found the golden egg!” expression. I love documenting these events because the energy is electric—and gone in a flash.
2. Sunrise Services & Easter Morning Worship
Nothing beats the quiet beauty of an Upstate Easter church service. Local options include:
- Abner Creek Baptist Church in Greer (This is my church and I hope to see you there Sunday)
- Sunrise service at Falls Park on the Reedy in Greenville (7 a.m. Easter Sunday)
- Many Upstate churches offering special services, egg hunts, and breakfasts
The soft morning light, families in their Sunday best, and that hopeful feeling as the sun rises over the Reedy River or the mountains make for incredibly moving photos. Whether it’s a quiet portrait of your family in the glow or candid shots during the service, these images feel sacred and personal.
3. iMAGINE Upstate Festival – Saturday, April 4 (Downtown Greenville)
One of the biggest family events of the weekend hits downtown Greenville on Saturday. Expect hands-on activities, live music, interactive fun, and plenty of science activities!
This is not an easter themed event, but let me tell you, this is an awesome event to go to on Saturday. We stumbled upon it one year and loved it! We are excited to go back this year.
4. Larkins Sawmill Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch – Sunday, April 5 (Greenville)
This beloved event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 22 Graves Drive and includes an open buffet brunch with timed egg hunts (bring your own basket!), plus chances to meet the Easter Bunny for photos.
Kids in Easter outfits hunting eggs while the whole family enjoys a festive meal — it’s the ultimate multi-generational memory. The rustic setting at Larkins Sawmill adds beautiful natural light and texture that photographs gorgeously.
5. Spartanburgers Post-Game Easter Egg Hunt – Sunday, April 5 (Spartanburg)
Catch the Hub City Spartanburgers baseball game at Fifth Third Park (first pitch 2:05 p.m.), then stay for the on-field Easter egg hunt presented by Eggs Up Grill. Special golden eggs mean extra prizes for the kids!
Baseball under the spring sun followed by kids scrambling across the field — this is high-energy, all-American fun with a unique Upstate twist. The stadium lighting and field backdrop create dynamic photos full of movement and celebration.
This Easter weekend will be gone before you know it.
Don’t let the memories fade with just phone snaps. I still have limited availability for relaxed family sessions, mini-sessions at parks or events, and even on-location coverage during these activities.
Whether it’s 20–30 minutes at your favorite spot after an egg hunt or full storytelling coverage of your family’s weekend, I’ll make it easy and fun so you can be fully present.
Wishing you and your family a joyful, faith-filled Easter filled with laughter, spring sunshine, and memories worth keeping forever.
